Day 1 of AdvoCare Herbal Cleanse, Pittsburgh

Day 1: Monday, 8/15

I'm on my seventh Herbal Cleanse (Why? Because I like it!) I'm not looking to drop anymore weight. To be completely honest, I like how flat my stomach gets, I like the appetite control I experience and I am also extending my time here on the planet with my darling little daughters (family history of diverticulitis).

If you would habe told me February 2, 2010 that the net day I was going to be introduced to some fantastic products that would literally "change my life" I would have probably laughed in your face> See I was stuck on the fact, like so many other people, friends and family included that EXERCISE is the ONLY way to lose weight. We certainly know in our very smart heads of our that the statement is NOT TRUE! Really, . . .so if I work out 2.5hrs at the gym, burn 350 calories, its OK to eat that piece of chocolate cake at dessert, and consume those small cheese fries washing it all down with a diet coke?

Anyway, I'm now a believer, or I should say a follower on a path to simply better decisions, great eating habits, and a new relationship with my body as a healthier, stronger vessel. "Protect this house" is an UnderArmour phrase, but holds true with me.

Every 90 days I dump the vitamins, and wash out my gut with gentle scrub, so to speak. I refuel on small frequent meals that include protein, complex carbs, and minimal starch. Drink a ton of water, and get lots of sleep. Does that sound hard or too dificult. It shouldn't be since that's how we are really supposed to do it anyway.

This time around, I'm making it a lot of fun. See, I'll be in the hot and steamy state of Texas for three days while on the cleanse and I'm sure on Days 5, 6, & 7 I will not miss the Fiber Drink. So while I'm here, I'm playing it up. I put my fiber drink in a very pretty glass. Turns out, it was easier to get down, and didn't feel like a chore to chug. Do not let the Fiber Drink stand still. I mixed the pouch with water, stirred briskly, snapped the pic and down the hatch. Done!

My first "meal" was about 25-30 minutes after I chased the Fiber Drink wth another glass of water and last gulp of my Spark I mixed first and drank with 3 Catalyst. The strong point is taking the catalyst is to feed your muscles first and replenish vitamins and minerals and hydrate after sleeping 7-8hrs, when our body is in its lowest metabolic state. I drank a chocolate Meal Replacement Shake, a "solid" liquid breakfast shake that's fast and easy for me. M two girls were clawing at me to get them dressed, get them breakfast, my dogs needed their food, and out the door. I don't have time to prep for myself, but I can blend a shake :)

Then I ate my second meal around 2.5 hrs later. I ate a half cup plain oatmeal and some fresh blueberries on top. I ate 3 Omega Plex with that. I taught in my studio and came home. Another 3 hrs later I ate the meal pictured above. Looks like dinner, but it was a lettuce with roasted red peppers, steamed mixed veggies, and a 4oz salmon. Its was quick, healthy and very filling. another 3 hrs later, I ate a hard-boiled egg, sliced apple with natural peanut butter. Dinner was a hamburger patty, with lettuce and chopped hard-boiled egg in a Flat-Out flax wrap. I took with me a SPARK in my bottle and 3 Catalyst.

Then off to the studio for more Pilates. When I came home, around 7pm, I had another hard boiled egg and 1/2 cup of chick peas, along with three more Omega's.

WhenI was zonked, I drank water with my Herbal Cleanse Tablets and went to bed. I had a busy day on the phone. Try journaling everything you eat and put in your mouth and you'll be very surprised.
